    So the big day is finally approaching, Christmas trees are up, the chocolate tins are well and truly open, and all that is left is to wrap up all those Christmas presents. Unless, of course, you’re a last minute larry who is really stuck for that perfect gift for a loved one.

  3. Motographer of The Year 2012 

    With Instagram recently flying past the 100m user mark, and mobile phone photos accounting for over a quarter of all photos taken today, it’s clear that more and more people are eschewing expensive cameras in favour of the convenience of taking and editing photos with their smartphone.

    At Photobox, we love keeping an eye out for new trends in photography, and as such we want to recognise and reward the skill involved in taking great mobile shots. It’s for this reason we’ve launched Motographer of The Year 2012, our quest to find the world’s number one mobile photographer, or Motographer.

    The competition is simple; use Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to send us your best mobile shots that correspond to the theme of the heat being held. The best shots make it through to our illustrious panel of judges, which include Phil Gonzalez (founder of Instagramers.com), Christopher Phinn (Editor of Tap Mag) and Glyn Evans (founder of iPhoneography.com), who will select our finalists to attend the Motographer of The Year Grand Final on December 13th, 2012 in Central London at Instagramers London’s second annual Instagram exhibition.

    The winner, chosen by the judges and announced at the grand final, will receive loads of wonderful prizes, including a smartphone of their choosing, Photobox credit and exclusive access to top photography events throughout 2013. They’ll also win the most important prize - the right to call themselves Motographer of The Year 2012.
